I met Weronika about 6 years ago when she was dating one of my best friends. However, the last 6 months brought us closer than the past 6 years and I am about to explain why. Wero wanted to get out of the cold Poland, so I managed to convince her to drop her life behind and join me in cold Guatemala. It is always a brave decision to move abroad, but even more difficult I think for a person who actually has a good job, great social life and everything else in order to still pack a bag and move across to the other side of the globe to meet a brave new world.

When she first got to Antigua I pushed her to get out there and meet new people. I did it on purpose so that she would make her own new friendship circle and I didn’t have to wait long to hear all about her new friends and bulletproof adventures. I remember all the laughs and cries that happened along the journey, all the food, the flowers and frustrations, but I will cherish every single one of those memories.

One of my favourite stories is when we decided to launch a production company …”MAGERO”! Seriously guys shit is getting done; Marketing strategy is on fire and the business cards are in printing, so stay tuned for our revolutionary interpretation of the modern cinema. We produce movies, get the best directors and basically – needless to say – we rock.

In Guatemala women need to stick together due to the macho culture which reminds you of the simple fact that we still need to prove girls can do anything while protecting and supporting each other with no judgment. Weronika was and is that person for me. It has been a long time in my nomad life that I had a girlfriend, because:

a) chicks don’t like me

b) my boyfriend is actually my best friend so I never truly missed the absence of female bond

This brings me nicely to all my girls that are important in my life and since I have moved back to Europe I am hoping to seeing them much more. I don’t want to get too sentimental because it is not my style but saying goodbye to her in Guatemala was more difficult than I imagined it would be. She is currently acting as a stepmother to my dog (which I miss like crazy) and believe it or not Wero will be brining her to me in a 8 weeks as her psychological assistant all the way to Portugal.

I could not be more grateful and I can not wait to see both of my girls! Much love ❤️
